Welcome to the Ashby Free Public Library!

Spring Vacation at the Library

Spring Vacation is upon us and the library has some special activities planned. If the weather cooperates, we will even have activities outdoors to make the most of the sunshine.

Connor will be collecting signups for the various clubs that he has brainstormed with our Youth Advisory council.

There will be arts and crafts, games, and live music to celebrate the last school vacation before summer! There will also be highlights of what is planned for summer at the library.

Volunteer Positions Available

Help the library be the place you want it to be by volunteering! The library has many different opportunities for volunteering from helping shelve the books, to working with our historical collections, to helping with children’s programs, to running clubs and so much more! The library can be anything we can imagine it to be. Seniors can participate in the Tax-write-off Program and students can use the volunteer opportunity for community service hours. We love our volunteers! They are an essential part of a community’s library. If you are interested in volunteering email Heather at hperry@cwmars.org, call 978-386-5377, or stop by the library anytime.

Museums & Local Attractions

Did you know the Library has museum and local attraction passes available to borrow with your library card? Plan your visit and be sure to stop by the library to borrow your passes giving you access to discounted tickets. Thanks to the Ashby Cultural Council and Friends of the Library for Sponsoring these passes.

We’ve expanded our Wi-Fi range!

The AFPL’s Free Wi-Fi may now be accessed 24/7 from the parking lot and benches out front! We also have laptops available for patrons to use while in the library or borrow for a week to use at home.

AFPL is Fine-Free!

Did you know that we no longer charge overdue fines for library materials that are returned late? Your past overdue fines for Ashby items will also disappear! *You will still be charged for the replacement cost of damaged or lost items, and items borrowed from other libraries may still accrue overdue fines.

Become a Friend of the Library

The Friends is a non-profit group of volunteers who support and fund the needs of the library’s education programming. Sitting with Santa, the Pumpkin Festival, and Summer Reading all occur because of the Friends.

The Friends of the Library is always looking for more active members. The Friends is under new leadership and looking for help building out the group.
